Dear Sir/Madam,
I Need to Select a voltage Translator from FPGA 3.3V to 5V CMOS Logics as well as TTL Logics but
my Customer Specified that the load Characteristics are like this
1) CMOS High Capacitance (3000pF) as Load
1) CMOS Low Capacitance (200pF) as Load
please suggest, which buffer would be preferred for above requirements ??
and can i use single voltage Translator for interfacing CMOS and TTL
please suggest as earliest as Possible
Thank you in advance
regards
Balakrishna J
CMOS outputs are compatible with TTL inputs, so you can use any CMOS device running at 5 V.
For translating 3.3 V to 5 V, you can use any unidirectional LV1T/LV4T shifter. But 3.3 V is also the high-level voltage of TTL signals, so you can also use any 5 V buffer with TTL-compatible inputs.
A high capacitance at an output initially looks like a short. To limit the output current, use a series resistor. For example, for a 25 mA limit at 5 V, add 200 Ω.
What exactly does "CMOS high capacitance" mean? Typical CMOS inputs have a very low capacitance. Do you want to use the translator to drive a MOSFET gate?
Hi Balakrishna,
Clemens has touched on all the points perfectly. My question is the same. I'm not exactly sure what you are meaning by:
CMOS High Capacitance (3000pF) as Load
CMOS Low Capacitance (200pF) as Load
Dear Sir
These are the Load Characteristic parameters
CMOS High Capacitance (3000pF) as Load Characteristic
CMOS Low Capacitance (200pF) as Load Characteristic
and can i use single AXC family voltage Translator for interfacing Both CMOS and TTL
please suggest as earliest as Possible
Thank you in advance

Hi Balakrishna,
For this translation, I recommend using the LVC family as it will have higher drive and can translate up to 5 V.
The link below will take you to our parametric search so you can filter down your selection.
Dear sir
Can I use for Same TTL/CMOS Application
These Buffers
1) SN74LVC8t245 (Direction Controlled)
2) TXS0108 (Auto Direction)
If TXS0108 not recommended as per above quires i will continue with SN74LVC8t245 but I would like to prefer auto bidirectional transceivers for my design
please suggest as earliest as Possible
Thank you in advance
