LM567C: Glass slide dual edge detector application

Part Number: LM567C

We use TI part LM567C on a glass slide dual edge detector application and for the last two weeks Manufacturing is having a very low yield on this board impacting OTD.

The application board fails by detecting a slide edge with no slide present. This false detection is not acceptable. The failure mode is new.

So far investigation points to LM567C with recent date codes. On two failing boards when LM567C (with recent date code) was replaced with one with older date code (2, 3 or more years older) the problem disappear and the board function as expected.

Our  LM567C application is around 10 years old and have no had design changes. Can anyone, please, provide some feedback.

Thank in advance for your comments.
