What to do with unused inputs. If a bi-directional buffer is set with the A port being the input and the B port the output, what do I do with the unused 'pins'. Do I just tie the Port A unused pins to GND or VCC? Or do I tie both Port A and Port B unused pins to GND or VCC? The OE is always active.

Hi Mark,

You would have to tie the pins on both ports to GND or VCC since they are still inputs even if the translation is only occurring from A port to B port.

The inputs are always active, but on the port where the outputs are active (here: B), the inputs are connected to the outputs, and the pins can be left open.

Clemens is correct in that yes you can just connect the unused input A pins to GND. However, I was staying on the safe side by grounding the B side pins as well since although you say OE pins stay active, if for some reason they weren't I didn't want the part to possibly cause or get damaged.
