Hello,

I have a requirement to design an externally configurable rs232/rs422 schematic.

Can i choose the component "SN74AVC2T45", for the above requirement.

I have an idea like:

By using two "SN74AVC2T45" devices, one for TX+ & TX- and other one is for RX+ & RX-.

Based on some I/o Control- i want to configure 232 or 422. Can i configure these devices either for RS232 or Rs422 using the IO controls?.

Hi Kalyan,

Unfortunately no this device wouldn't be able to be used this way, you will need a RS232 or RS422 transceiver.
