Is that true for all A42 parts, or would I need to check on a case-by-case basis?

Bill,

This is not necessarily conclusive.

Your best way to tell for a QML for JAN device, would be to use the 5962- DLA/SMD part number. The last character of the part number indicates lead finish. If it ends in A, it is solder dipped. If C, then gold plate.
