TXS0108E: Non power supply condition at VCCA side

Part Number: TXS0108E

Hi Team,

The datasheet says ”No Power-Supply Sequencing Required – Either VCCA or VCCB Can Be Ramped First”

Are there any possibilities to get a damage when TXS0108E is exposed non power supply condition at VCCA side?

Since there is a state where the power on the VCCA side is NOT applied for a long time, so My customer is concerning about whether it will be damaged.

  • Hi Takashi,

There is no damage to the device when VCCA is at 0V when the the VCCB is powered up. As the requirement is that VCCA has to be <= VCCB. However, you should pull down the enable pins to GND during this condition so that the device is in the high impedance state.

Are there any external pullups on the device or will there be data being passed through the device when VCCA is at 0V? This may cause complications since the B side of the circuitry will be active.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Karan-san,

Sorry for my slow response on this.

I checked connected components around IC and I just confirmed EN is pull down to GND when VCCA is not powered.
It seems that we don't need to take care bus collision on this case.
