SN74HC244: SUITABLE REPLACEMENT FOR OBSOLETE NXP 74HC244N

Part Number: SN74HC244

I am working on replacing a NXP 74HC244N L8A2W4 05 UnG0823K chip. It appears that the Ti SN74HC244N is a direct replacement. Can anyone verify before I run an order for some? I am not an electrical engineer, my goal is to fix a device controller board.

Hi James,

Yes, they are the same both electrically and physically. You can compare their pinouts and sizes, both in their datasheets:

If you scroll down to their DIP20 package image on page 10 and our N package on page 24, you can compare the sizes. They are practically the same and you should be able to drop in replace the parts out.
