SN74AVC4T774: Recommended Operating Condition

Part Number: SN74AVC4T774

Hi Team,

Would you advise my customer's inquiry that

On page 7, "7.3 Recommended Operating Conditions" of the data sheet, there is a description that "VI (Input voltage) = 0 to 3.6V".
In actual use, it has been confirmed that the voltage is slightly lower than 0V as shown in the attached waveform.
What kind of effects are expected if this happens?

Any advise should be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Best regards,

Shidara

  • There are ESD protection diodes from GND to the inputs, but they become fully forward biased only at -0.5 V (as shown in the absolute maximum ratings).

When you exceed the recommended operating conditions, the electrical characteristics are no longer guaranteed. But in this case, I cannot see anything happening except a larger leakage current, and at 90 mV, it's probably too small to be measurable, let alone noticeable.

  • Hi Shidara,

As Clemens mentioned, the negative ESD diodes to gnd are activated when the line goes below -0.5V, and -0.09V will not affect the reliability or long term functionality of the device.

  • Hi Clemens-san, Shreyas-san

    Thank you very much.

I informed this to my customer.

    Best regards,

    Shidara
