SN74LVC1G97: SN74LVC1G97DBVR will work on 5V or not or should we use a level translator.

Hi,

We are using SN74LVC1G97DBVR, the VCC voltage applied is 3.3V. We are using it as an AND gate. One of our input is 5V. As per the datasheet it supports input voltages upto 5.5V.

Please help us to understand whether it will work on 5V or not or should we use a level translator.

Yes, LVC inputs are overvoltage tolerant and will accept a voltage of 5 V as a valid high level.
