SN74LVT16240: IC is active low inverting tristate buffer

Part Number: SN74LVT16240

whether SN74LVT16240 is active low inverting buffer or not.

Pin diagram in data sheet shows the 1,4 are output enable as active low and 2,3 as active high.

can u confirm whether all 1,2,3,4 output enable inputs are active low or high, inverting or non inverting.

output current low level is 64ma , high level is 48ma.

whether the current mentioned in data sheet is for all output pins of the IC or for single output pin.

  • Hello,

The SN74LVT16240 is an quad 4-bit inverter. Each of the enable pins are active low.

Can you point out which pin diagram you are referring to which says otherwise so I can mark to be fixed in the future?

The output current flow is for a single output pin.

Please also look at the footnotes:

This current flows only when the output is in the high state and VO>VCC. 64mA is current sinking into the device.

Also output current flow for low level is 128mA. There are SN54 devices listed there so be careful reading the tables.

Also note,Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability.

    Thanks!
