SN74AVC16T245: IT WILL SUPPORT FOR BOH READ AND WRITE OPERATION????/

Part Number: SN74AVC16T245
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVCH16T245

Hi ,

I am using SN74AVC16T245 level shiftier for LCD voltage level conversion , But in this level shiftier  it can possible to read and write operation to be control the direction pins.

Please find the attachment  LCD image , and suggest me it is suitable for our LCD display.

Regards

pandi

  • Before doing a write, you have to configure for the 1A→1B direction with 1DIR = 1.
Before doing a read, you have to configure for the 1B→1A direction with 1DIR = 0.

When you are not accessing the LCD at all, it might make sense to disable the outputs on both sides. If you want to do that, pull 1OE high.

To ensure that all lines have a valid voltage level at all times, consider using a transceiver with bus-hold function, such as the SN74LVCH16T245.

Please note that 3.3 V and 3 V are not very far apart; it is possible that the MCU and the LCD controller will accept each other's signals without a translator (check VIH and the absolute maximum ratings for input pins in both datasheets).
