Hello,

Our customer is considering to use SN74LVC08A as a buffer to 50MHz SCLK input of ADS8920B.
Can SN74LVC08A be used for this purpose?
ADS8920B SCLK reqruies 45-55% high/low time clock with VIH= 0.7 VCC / VIL=0.3VCC (VCC=3.3).

This will work. At 3.3 V, the logic family with the strongest and fastest output drivers is LVC, and 50 MHz is well withing the supported frequency range.

But why using a quad AND gate, and not a single buffer like the SN74LVC1G34? And if the input signal is already degraded, a buffer with Schmitt-trigger input (SN74LVC1G17) would be a better idea.

Is there any specific reason the customer wants to buffer the signal using an AND gate? If not, using a Schmitt-Trigger buffer (like the SN74LVC1G17) would be the better option.
