Looking at the SN74LVC1G97-Q1 logic gate. Datasheet states absolute max voltage on logic inputs is 6.5V and appears to be independent of Vcc. I'm looking for confirmation that this Vi limit is in fact independent of the device Vcc (let's say I'm using 3.3V). I've seen inputs protected by a diode to the Vcc rail so this must not be the case for this device.
