LSF0204: how to set lowest Vol

Part Number: LSF0204

Hi team,

My customer now uses LSF0204, and pull up to 3.3V and 1.2V, pull-up resistor tries 330Ω and 1kΩ, but Vol of 1.2V side is always 350mV.

Can we make LSF0204 Vol drop to below 100mV? I don't think it's caused by their low input voltage, it seems caused by internal transistor.

If it's caused by internal transistor, do we have lower Vol device with same package and same data rate to promote? Or do we have solution to fix this?

Thank you!

  • Hi Gary,

You are right that the internal FET of the LSF0204 determines the Vol in part. I have this app note here below which talks about the factors which affects the Vol of the LSF translators.

Vol = Vil + IOL*Ron. Ron is the FET's internal resistance and IOL is the current passing through the FET. With low IOL and Ron, the Vol depends on the input Vil at the input. To reduce the IOL, the pullup resistors must be higher. In your case, there is 330ohm resistor ( very strong) and 1Kohm ( relatively strong). If you could increase that to 4.7kohm, the IOL will reduce and hence the Vol will reduce accordingly.
