SN74LVC1G125: Input transition rise or fall rate maximum specs

Hi team, 

I am using this part and noticed there is a spec called input transition rise or fall rate. What's the purpose of the specs? For example the maximum of this specs in 10ns/V with 3.3V Vcc. What will happen if my signal is 50ns/V (which is much slower and over the limit)?
