SN74LVC245A: What is the effect of exposing a part to temperatures greater than its storage temperature for 30 minutes?

Part Number: SN74LVC245A

We have a situation where some logic parts were on a board that was exposed to 165 DegC for 30 minutes because some epoxy needed to be cured.

The boards were not energized at the time.

The maximum storage temp of the parts is 150DegC.

Q: what are the possible issues of this exposure?

Thank you.

  • Hi Bill,

Unfortunately, we don't have any data on how our devices behave outside of the recommended operating conditions listed on the datasheet.

My opinion: I think the logic devices on the board will be fine, there's nothing in the part that will be damaged by the high heat (see http://www.ti.com/materialcontent/home to see what each device is made of); however, TI will not guarantee the functionality of a device if it's operated outside of the specification on the datasheet.

    Thanks!
