Hi
I have a customer who wants to power the CD74HC4050M96 device from 3.3V and drive the inputs from sources capable of 200mA (the sources are the OUTx signals from a UCC28951 SMPS controller). The signals are 50% duty cycle square waves and will run at 200kHz.
The CD74HC4050M96 is being used as a level shifter - 12V to 3.3V. Is this something that the device can handle or should I recommend adding current limiting resistors -and if so - what would be a reasonable current or resistance value?
Thanks
Colin
As shown in the datasheet, this device has overvoltage-tolerant inputs. No resistors are necessary.
Thanks Clemens - I just wanted to be sure I understood the DS correctly. Regards, Colin
