Hello Harish,

I am not sure i understand the question, you need an alternate part number that is bidirectional without direction control?

The TXS0108E is automatically bidirectional and does not have direction control.

Alternatively for 8 bits with 3.3 to 1.8V translation we have the SN74AXC8T245 device. You can just tie the direction control signals to whatever makes sense to fit the direction needs you have.

Otherwise, there is also a TXB0108, which is another autobidirectional device that can support your needs.

These are essentially the best available options for 8-bit translation.

I need autodirectional with 3.3V to 1.8 V conversion, TXB0108 will work when only VCCA< VCCB right?

Both the TXS0108E and the TXB0108 will work with V_CCA = 1.8 V, V_CCB = 3.3 V.

But they have different restrictions on the kind of signals they support. What bus are you using? SPI? I²C?

i need this for both SPI interface and GPIO(PRG_PRU) Signals from Controller.

As signals from Controller is 3V3 and need to be converted to 1v8

Now I Planned to give VCCA 1.8 and VCCB 3V3, and i will give my controller signals directly to VCCB side. I hope it should work with this condition.

Hey Harish,

The SN74AXC4T774 may be a good fit here. I'd recommend taking a look at this device since it will let you independently control each channel direction. TXB0108 can also work here if you find it more suitable.

Hi,

See my understanding is if we need to level translate a interface that has both tx and rx signals and passes through same level translator should be autodirectional right???

No. You need an automatic bidirectional translator only if one single channel line can be used in both directions, and if there is no separate direction control signal available.

If each single channel goes only in one direction (but different channels can go in different directions), then you can use the SN74AXC4T774.
