Hi Team,

I would like to buffer jtag signals (12mhz max) from an external connector to/from my board. The voltage is 3.3v.

I was looking at the SN74LVC125APWT , it seems a good choice , however its ESD HBM rating is quite low. I need to withstand 15kv.

I was looking also at the TXB0108, I could connect VCCA&VCCB to the same 3.3v, it has ESD rating of 15kv on the B port, however the output drive capabilities are low so i am not sure it is a good choise for jtag (signals have to exit my board for some distance....)

    Hey Tom,

    You a right to be cautious when using the TXB0108 with long cables, it doesn't have strong enough drive strength. You will likely have to add system level ESD protection for this and use the buffer device you have been looking at ( its a great choice for this application).
