SN74LVC1G17-Q1: Slow switching specification missing in datasheet

Part Number: SN74LVC1G17-Q1

The datasheet for SN74LVC1G17QDCKRQ1 mentions transition limitations in the application section (9.21 and 9.2.2), but does not specify these limitations in the absolute maximum or recommended operating conditions tables.

As it is a schmitt trigger device, I expect the input is tolerant to values between the rails, and in other manufacturer's datasheets for similar devices they explicitly call out either the V/s limitation, or that it has no limitation on time spent in these intermediate voltages.

Please help provide data on this part that can be used to determine the maximum current/power dissipation vs input voltage.  Various reference documents from TI show similar graphs representing similar information.

Alternatively, if the input range is tolerant of any voltage level regardless of time spent there, the total worst case power dissipation would be valuable.  In the end, I'm looking for assurance that this part will survive our environmental testing at 80 degrees C.

  • Hey E,

This device doesn't have any input transition requirements due to the Schmitt-trigger input. The delta Icc spec should give you an idea of worst case Icc increase from slower transitions. I don't see any issues surviving testing at 80 C even with slower transitions.
