SN74LS674: Clarification on how the data is latched

Hi team,

Our customer would like to know regarding how serial data is loaded into the output register.

From the datasheet, it cannot determine which signals cause the data to be written into the output registers. Is it the mode signal that latches data?

the customer needs some clarification on how the data is latched.

    Did they select this device because it is 16-bit, or because the LS family of logic is exactly what they were looking for?  I would bet on the former since this is a _very_ old bipolar based shift register.

    My first recommendation would be to use a newer device such as the SN74HCS595 and just put 2 in series to get 16 bits.
