TXS0108E: Which Auto-Bidirectional IC to choose for UART and I2C?

Part Number: TXS0108E
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LSF0108,

Hi Logic Team,

My customer is currently between the TXS0108E and the LSF0108 for use in translating I2C and UART line between 3.6V and 1.8V.

Which would be the better option here. I've looked through our material online but I want to know which option is the best because both seem to be capable of push-pull and open drain.

Interested in your thoughts.

Thanks,

Mitchell

  • Hi Mitchell,

It depends on the application.  Given only 3.6V to 1.8V and the two protocols, either one is a fine choice. TXS0108E is simpler to implement, so that would be my first choice.

If you have additional details about the system, we might be able to give a better answer.
