TXS0108E: Parameter Tolerence

Hi Team, we do have some questions and clarifications about some parameters on the datasheet.

1.) Do we have a tolerance for Rpua/Rpub values for both logic high and low.

2.) Tolerance range for translator channel capacitance values?


3.) Tolerance for the one-shot accelerator on-times for for each I/O FET/on-shot stage?

4.) In section 9.3.3 of the datasheet, capacitive load value.


5.) How many one-shot retriggers would the part tolerate?

    Hey Mark,

    Here's my feedback:

    1) Please refer to this FAQ: .

    2) All we have is the Cio spec in the data sheet with a value at  25 C and over recommended Ta.

    3) The one shots can be on from 10 to 30 ns.

    4) We recommend <= 70pF.

    5) Don't have any data for this.

    Hello Dylan,

    Mark Philip Felipe made this discussion available to me for some follow up on point 5.) regarding TXS108 one-shot behavior.  Can you advise the behavior related to on-shot re-triggering?

    What is the "best guess" for one-shot re-triggers resulting in damage to the part?  Would the one-shot re-trigger reliably given a certain time interval if Vil/Vol or Vih/Voh were not reached the first time, or "maybe sometimes", and what is the estimated timing of a re-trigger sequence?  (Or would this effectively be an "unknown state" and the behavior of the part would be random at best?)

    The one-shot triggers only when it detects the beginning of a rising edge. If the capacitive load is too high, the one-shot will time out, and the voltage will rise more slowly. You get a trigger sequence only if there is ringing on the line.

    Hello Mark,

    Thank you for your reply - this clarifies the terminology in the datasheet regarding retriggering...the terminology in the datasheet regarding "retriggering" inherently contradicts the intention of a one-shot.

    Also, would it be correct for me to assume that the pull-up resistance would vary by -35%/+50%, or would the variation be -3.5k to +5k?  The TXS108 (which is what I'm using) has Rpua/Rpub values of 40k (output low) and 4k (output high), not 10k like the TXS102, which is what Mark Philip Felipe indicated but did not clarify with respect to the 40k/4k pull-up used on the TXS108, which is different than the 10k pull-up used on the TXS102, etc.

    Hey Mark,

    Yes, you can go ahead and use the ~40% tolerance for the pull-ups in the TXS0108 as well.
