LSF0108: What's the difference between TXS and LSF?

Part Number: LSF0108
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0108E

Hi team,

My customer wants to find how to select the level shift products.

1. What's the difference between TXS and LSF?

for example TXS0108 & LSF0108.

Thanks.

  • Hi Frank,

There are many differences. In short, the TXS is a much more advanced translator that uses the same base concept as the LSF.

    Here's a quick breakdown:

    Specification LSF0108 TXS0108E
    Functional Block Diagram
Type of Translation Passive Auto-bidirectional Passive Auto-bidirectional + one-shot edge accelerators + internal pull-ups + active control logic
    ESD Protection Device-level only

    Device-level on A side & control ports

    System-level on B side

    Minimum Translation Voltage 1.0 V 1.4 V
    Maximum Translation Voltage 5 V 5.5 V
    Supports Open-Drain Yes Yes
    Supports Push-Pull Yes Yes
    Difficulty to design High Low
Load capacitance max limit Depends on data rate desired - 70pF is recommended. 70 pF
Requires external pull-up resistors Yes No
Supports external pull-down resistors No No
