Hi Art,
Maximum thermal power dissipation is calculated using the provided package thermal impedance (86°C/W), the maximum ambient operating temperature (depends on customer application), and the maximum junction temperature (150°C).
For example, if the customer is operating the device all the way up to the maximum temperature of 85°C, then then equation would be:
(150 - 85) / 86 = 756 mW
