TXB0104/TXB0108 usage for SDIO 3V3 conversion to 1V8

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXB0108, TXS0206

Hello,

I would like to translate SDIO controller's 3V3 to 1V8 like shown below.

SDIO Master  3V3 <--------> (B) TXB0108 (A) <----------------> 1V8 SDIO slave

TXB0108 specs mentiones that VccA <= VccB which implies SDIO controller should be connected to B port. In application notes of this sort of devices I usually see an SPI/SDIO device connected to A port, hence converting SDIO to a higher voltage level.

Is TXB0108 suitable for converting 3v3 SDIO to 1v8

thanks

  • Yes, the TXB0108 is suitable for 3v3 to 1v8 translation. The device does not differentiate between controler and slave devices, so you should use the voltage to decide which side each device is placed on.

    Another option with SDIO is the TXS0206, which is SDIO application specific.
