TXS0102: Distinguish between Push Pull and Open Drain

Part Number: TXS0102

Dear Team,

Customer has a question about TXS0102 below
How do I distinguish  between Push Pull and Open Drain?

Can I use I2C interface to distinguish it?

Thanks

Jimmy

  • Jimmy,

The I2C interface is an open drain interface, as it does not have outputs that actively drive the lines high and is dependent upon external pull ups to have any line be driven high.

A push-pull interface has drivers that actively drive the bus high and low, whereas an open-drain interface only has drivers that drive the bus low and is dependent upon external pullups to drive the bus high.
