SN74LVC2T45: Operation in opposite direction

Part Number: SN74LVC2T45

Dear Team,

Would anyone be able to help with my customer question below ?

In the datasheet there are some power-up considerations:

I’m using this component with the direction from B to A and VCCB rises before VCCA. It’s working good.

I just wanted to check if I work with opposite direction, so in stages 2 & 3 above “VCCA” should be replaced with “VCCB”, right?

Regards,

Nir

  • Hello Nir,

I would recommend the power sequence be followed independent of the DIR pin state.

The key thing to note is that all I/O pins have inputs that are always connected, so if any of the I/O have a voltage that is not driven to GND or VCC even during power up or power down, then there is possibility of excessive currents due to shoot through.

    Best,
    Michael
