Part Number: SN74LVC125A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74HCS125

Hi,

We are using SPI protocol with wired communication in my project ,The wired length is maximum 40 to 50Cm

Could you please suggest me some driver IC ,I have selected some of part number like(SN74LVC125A) it will support for this application ?????

And also advice me this application suitable driver IC or Repeater ???????

Thank & Regards,

Pandi

  • Hi Pandi,

With such a long trace, I expect that you'll be seeing significant transmission line effects and a large capacitive loading.

I would recommend to use a device with positive clamp diodes and I would add external resistors in series with all pins connected to the long traces. 33 ohms is typically enough to limit current and provide damping for any ringing at the distant end, but you can always adjust that in testing.

The SN74HCS125 would be a good choice since it has Schmitt-trigger inputs, allowing for additional noise margin.
