TXS0102-Q1: Can this device apply for CAN interface?

Dear team,

MCU's TX/RX is 3.3V, but the CAN device that my customer use can't support 3.3V.

Can this device apply for CAN interface? If not, could you please help recommend one to me?

Hey Sherry,

Are you trying to shift the CANL and CANH? As far as I know, CAN interface is differential and unfortunately we don't support differential signals with our translation devices.

Hey Sherry,

Okay yes if you're using just the TXD and RXD pins this would be more of a serial communication similar to UART. It looks like the voltage level is 5V and I believe the transmission speed is pretty low here (<2Mbs). I'm not fully certain of the TX/RX frequency in CAN applications though so please let me know if iIm mistaken. Otherwise, the TXS0102-Q1 should be able to shift your 3.3V signal to 5V for the TCAN1042.

The data rate is 5Mbps, because they use CAN FD.

From the TCAN datasheet it appears that RXD is push pull and TXD is open drain (with integrated pull up) so the TXS may not meet your needs because of the open drain data rate limitations for this device. I'd recommend the LSF0102-Q1 isntead.
