One of my customers is considering using SN74AS245 for their new products.

They have a few questions as the follows.

Could you please give me your reply?

Q1. Do you have a equivalent schematic of SN74AS245 input and output?

Q2. Does the device input or output terminal have any pull-up or pull-down resistor internally?

1. See figures 13, 17, 18, and 20 in the Advanced Schottky Family application report.

2. There are no internal pull-ups or -downs. An AS input is the base of a PNP transistor, so an open input will be read as high. (But an open input might easily pick up noise.)

The SN74ABT245B device is cheaper, faster, stronger, and uses less power. (For I/O schematics, see Advanced BiCMOS Technology Characterization Information.)
