TXB0108: Output current

Part Number: TXB0108

Hi,

May I know TXB0108RGYR each one port current ability?

I should reference Absolute maximum rating or Iccb data?

Jeff

  • The absolute maximum ratings show how much current you can try to force out of a output before it gets damaged. This is not the current that the output can provide by itself.

ICC is the idle supply current without a load, not the output current.

The output current can be found in the test conditions of VOL/VOH. And yes, it is only 20 µA. TXB outputs can drive only high-impedance CMOS inputs; if you need to drive a higher load, TXB is not a suitable translator.

Why do you need to know the output current ability? What is the actual problem you're trying to solve?

  • Hey Jeff,

Generally speaking, for DC output current you'll want to use the IOH and IOL values from the electrical characteristics table.

These are not the most current the device can output, but they are how much current the device can output while maintaining the listed VOH and VOL specifications. Under normal conditions, we would recommend to avoid drawing more DC current than this value.

  • Hi Emrys,

    Got it and thank you.
