Hope I'm in the correct forum.
I have a remote sensor application in which I want to use a resonant frequency technique to measure the capacitance in the circuit (this is a moisture sensor). Since the information I need is the resonant frequency, a counter seems a reasonable tool to capture that information. The issue I see is in getting the frequency counter's output into the computer without tying up a bunch of GPIO lines. And so I am searching for a counter with an I2C or SPI serial interface. Does such a thing exist?
