Hi, from the data sheet there is no specific recommendation for how to connect the thermal pad electrically. We assume thermal via to ground is OK, but we are slightly uncomfortable because there are some devices where you cannot connect a thermal pad to ground and there is no specific instruction that we can find in the data sheet ( or in the app note 271)
