SN74AHC08QPWRDL max input voltage tolerance

Hello TI Team,

What is max DC voltage that can be applied to SN74AHC08QPWRDL input, having Vcc = 5V ?

In detail my customer needs to understand if having Vcc = 5V, can they safely apply 6V DC to any input (if yes, under what conditions?).

The recommended operating conditions allow 5.5 V, with any V_CC.

What if Vin is above Vcc? as explained take example: Vcc=5V and Vin is 6V.

Will this work, or does any current limiting resistor has to be added to the input?

I refer to datasheet page 2, note 1:

Are there any ESD diodes at Vin pins?

What are the voltage clamp thresholds of this diodes?

Hi Piotr,

This device has overvoltage tolerant inputs - meaning - regardless of VCC Voltage level, the device's inputs can accept up to 5.5V.

This device does not have positive clamps on its inputs.
