Dear All,

I am using a controller with I/O levels at 3.3V and as i need to drive some motors i am using ULN2003A from TI .

We are having two voltage domains in the PCB

 a. 3.3V/5A ( for processor and ethernet ) and

 b. 5V/5A for all motors and peripherals.

The motor operates at 5V , please suggest how to manage should we use a level translator to connect the controller to ULN2003A

    Hi,

    with the ULN2003A you just need a high level of 3V to get a collector current of 300 mA (datasheet page 5). So, why not connect the output pin of the controller directly? The output pin has to drive less than 1 mA (datasheet page 11) which it can drive easily.
