TM4C129ENCPDT: Resetting the device to factory settings

Hi All,

I am using the tm4c129encpdt microcontroller with TI-RTOS.

I have set the mac address of the device and now I want to reset it. I checked the datasheet it is given that there is some jtag sequence which has to be performed.

Can anyone tell me what is the easiest way to do that? I checked somewhere that we can do it with segger j-link debugger. We use the segger j link to flash the code into our device using Uniflash.

I tried to reset it from there but on the Settings and Utility section, nothing is showing up.

Hello AkhiG,

From what I am seeing, Seggar's own software would have a supported Unlock function. I'm not certain we support J-Link with the command line Uniflash tool which is what works for XDS110/XDS200 as both LMFlash and Uniflash GUI does not support/work correctly.

Can you try using that software? That'd be quickest solution. If that works just for unlocking then you should be set?

I figured out how to do this for the MSP432E401Y (with the J-Link command line). The devices are similar enough that it might work (or at least be close) here:

[Edit: The sequence for the TM4C129E is described in data sheet (SPMS441B) Sec 5.2.6.6, and looks the same as that for the MSP432E401Y. I expect you could just copy/paste the sequence in that other thread.]

Thanks, Bruce and Ralph. It works very well for me. I am able to do with the command-line tool. GUI tool is not free to unlock the device. We have to purchase the license to use that. No need for it if the cmd tool is working fine.
