TMS570LC4357-EP: Is EMIF CS[0] only for SDRAM or can it also be used in async mode?

I checked the datasheet and TRM but I wanted to make sure. For the 16-bit EMIF, chip select 0 is used for SDRAM. My question is, can cs[0] also be used for async memories like the other chip selects? I'm pretty sure the answer is no but the customer wants to make sure.
