AM2434: Licensing of industrial protocols in newest MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243X

Part Number: AM2434

In the newest MCU SDK, the protocol stacks seem to be provided by KUNBUS. The license is described as "TI Commercial" (in the manifest http://software-dl.ti.com/mcu-plus-sdk/esd/AM64X/08_00_00_21/exports/docs/mcu_plus_sdk_am64x_manifest.html).

What does this mean to TI customers? Does it mean that TI has reached the goal to supply pre-licensed solutions for these SoCs (AM243x/AM64x)? We are particularly interested in the PROFINET adapter and IO-Link master.

Thank you.

  • TI and Kunbus have partnered to provide customers with integrated protocols in the SDK.  AM64/243 EVMs and AM243 Launchpads contains devices that have the protocols enabled for development.  Customers who decide to use AM64 or AM243 for their own production hardware will purchase a device part number with the "F" feature that enables all of the the protocols licensed through TI.  The protocols are supported by TI.
