RTOS/BeagleBone Black

Attempting to create a microSD bootable image to load and run on my BeagleBone Black developement platform.  After installing Ubuntu am335x SDK v6.03 provided from the TI site, I run create-sdcard.sh successfully and attempt to boot the device with the provide pre-can filesystem and boot loader (no kernel re-compiles).  According to the blue LEDs the board boots from the microSD but I do not have serial or ethernet communication to the BBB board.  This behavior is not seen when booting from the pre-loaded eMMC (Debian) image as serial and ethernet are available.  Any help you provide for instruction with loading the BBB board with the pre-built and developer built images from TI provided SDK would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Jesse
