Can not measure PWM via NHET

Hi folks,

I want to measure PWM signals but it does not work.

I configured NHET2 to generate a PWM signal. This works fine so far. Then I configured NHET4 as capture via HALCoGen. Finally I wired NHET2 with NHET4 and started my program. But nothing happens. I also checked the HETRAM but the data fields were 0 all the time.

My configuration:

HCLK: 160MHz
VCLK2: 80MHz
HRP: 5 -> HR clock: 13Mhz
LRP: 3 -> Loop Time: 1200ns
NHET2 as output
NHET4 as input

So, where is my mistake?

UPDATE:

The measurement of the duty cycle seems to work now. But I have absolutely no glue why it is running now. However, the measurement of the period still returns 0.

Help!

Hey, i am also facing the similar issue, where duty cycle showing some value but time period value is always zero. Any update on your case ?

Hi Prathap,

The same issue i posted in other query, where i was using the code generated from the HALCogen tool.I have not written the het file.

I quickly used HALCoGen to generate HET codes to generate PWM and Capture the same using other Pin. I have zipped the complete src files with the CCS (ver 4.2.4) pjt. 7268.NHET_PWM_CAP.zip

I put the snap shots of HALCoGen and few info in the NHET PWM generation and Capture using HALCoGen.pdf 1512.NHET PWM generation and Capture using HALCoGen.pdf

Hope this helps.. In future HALCoGen releases there is a plan to add an Example code for PWM generation, capture.

Thanks Prathap. This should definetly help me.

I just had a quick look on the pdf you have attached. When the PIN10 and PIN30 are using as NHET pins. Why do we need GIO drivers ? Is it not sufficient to set these pins as Input ot Output using NHET module registers ? Or is it for looping purpose ?

Hi Bindu,

GIO drivers are just there to check the external loopback connection that I made between pin 10 and 30.. You can very well remove it, it does not have to do anything with PWM generation or capture.
