TMS570LC4357: Looking for an MCU of Extended Temperature of -55 Degrees C and Flash Memory

Part Number: TMS570LC4357
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LS3137, , TMS570LS3137-EP

Hi Team,

Good day! I am posting this in behalf of the customer.

Our customer design is a data-logger board for aerospace applications. It has to be into a plane and must work from -55ºC. It was suggested that it could be the TMS570LC4357 (Extended temp. range) or the TMS570LS3137. From -55ºC, 1 Ethernet port (ideally RGMII), manage 4Gb external flash memory for data-logging.

The customer is using the ref TMS570LC4357 and TMS570LS3137 for other products and they would like to use any of these references. Control by FreeRTOS. Internal memory is more than enough with any of the two former references. SPI and I2C interface capable and ideally has one USB port.

Their main problem is how to manage QPSI,SPI,NOR of FLASH memories.
Those possible references for memories identified as available for -55ºC up to now are the next: S70FL01GS (extended temp.), 3DFN64G08VB1388. If you have other options that would be ok.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Jonathan

  • Hi Jonathan,

TMS570LC4357-EP and TMS570LS3137-EP devices have gold bond-wires, a temperature range of –55 to +125, and include a SnPb lead finish.

It has one 10/100Mb ethernet port, EMIF, I2C, SPI and Multi-buffered SPI. It doesn't have RGMII and USB.

Multi-buffered SPI can be used as QPSI if char-length = 4.
