TMS570LC4357: Flexray

Part Number: TMS570LC4357
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LS3137

Is there a "dev board" with a flex ray transciever which I can connect to my TMS570LC4357 hercules?

then several questions..new to flexray...

1)  the Hercules (TMS570LC4357) has two physical flexray channels..correct?...each one can operate seperately?..

2)  I would be using several TMS570LC4357 micro's, each performing different functions (i.e. one "system" dealing with vehicle position/gps, another dealing with radar information)...I wanted to have each of these "systems " tied to a flexray network in a multi-drop topology......this being said, I could use Qty 1 of the two flexray channels on each Hercules to tie to the buss....correct?...similiar to CAN (but obviously diffent)

3)  any recommended flex ray  tarnscievers for the Hercuels?

and lastly...any links to app notes, dev boards, code, etc......(I downloaded  6646.TMS570LS3137_FlexRay_Example.zip) for another post.

as always...thank you for your  continued support!

  • Hello JY,

    1. The Flexray has been designed with safety requirements in mind to comply with automotive industry demands. The Flexray bus offers two channels for communication: channel A and channel B. An node can be connected to both or just one of them. The communication can operate in two modes:

    • Fault-tolerant mode: the communication on channel B is sync-ed with the communication on channel A.
    • Independent mode: the communication on channel A is independent of the communication on channel B.

    2. You can tie one channel or both channels to the FR bus

    3. There are several brands available in the market. What I tried before are TJA1080 and TJA1082 from NXP.

No, there is no app note from my side. I don't any development board which contains FR transceiver.

  • QJ,

I was told this by a rep:

TI provides the MCAL drivers for TMS570LC4357 under a special NDA.

I have had no luck with the Massachusetts office.

I need some real help here if you could put me in touch with a TI rep that can actually get me what I need

    Thank you

     appreciate any and all help
