Hi Expert,

Is there any difference between system UART and PRU UART? Or is there anything in handling?

Hi Shaoxing,

The system UART is the real UART hardware modules. The PRU UART is the PRU firmware simulated UART. Running different PRU firmware can simulate different peripherals (UART, ECAP or EPWM), but one PRU can only run one kind of PRU firmware at one time.

Hi Ming,

you mean one PRU is ½ slice ICSS_G0? If I want to use one PRU for the T-format and PTO. does it work?

Hi Shaoxing,

Yes. I think so. There are two PRUs in each ICSSG. Each PRU should be able to handle T-format and PTO.
