MSP432E401Y: Hibernation mode with battery directly connected to MSP432E401Y

We try to implement the hibernation module with the option of using separate sources for VDD and VBAT specified in the document  MSP432E4 SimpleLinkTm Microcontrollers  Technical Reference Manual (www.ti.com/.../slau723a.pdf. The  manual says: "In this mode, additional circuitry is required for system startup without a battery or with a depleted battery." Did any one design this circuitry before or any application note related to this hibernation implementation / configuration? Your help would be very much appreciated.
