LP-AM243: How do we distinguish between those with protocol and those without protocol

Part Number: LP-AM243

Hi Expert,

I know the AM243x family supports integrated industrial protocol stacks, but how to distinguish bare metal version without protocol?

Based on the industrial communication of Sitara products, how many modes can we support? The agreement is all from Kumbus? Or from a third-party protocol company?

So when we are promoting our Sitara products, how do we distinguish between those with protocol and those without protocol?

  • Hi Shaoxing,

Please reference the "Features" parameter in the AM243x part nomenclature in the data manual with values noted below.  Value F enables the TI-Kunbus protocols in the MCU+ SDK.  Third party protocols can be enabled with D, E, or F depending on the needs of the customer.

    –Value = C: PRU-ICSS disabled

–Value = D: PRU-ICSS enabled; networking firmware runs

–Value = E: PRU-ICSS and EtherCAT HW Accelerator enabled; run EtherCAT firmware with Beckhoff SSC stack

Value = F: PRU-ICSS and EtherCAT HW Accelerator enabled; full stack support enabled

    Regards,

    Mike
