Part Number: TMS570LS1224
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH
I have a TMS570LS1224 that is having strange behavior when flashed.
We have also seen this on other units, but yet to find a reliable way to reproduce.
Effectively, we have a unit that is soft bricked. I attempt to recover it via Uniflash, our standard package for flashing, and the flashing succeeds. (Specifically selecting the sectors the bootloader will be loaded into)
However the known working software doesn't work.
If I flash via Code Composer Studio, following the same process, the unit becomes functional. If the specific sectors the bootloader is going into are not selected and its left to the flashing utility to determine, the unit will still fail.
Further, if I flash it again via Uniflash the software stops working, exhibiting the original symptoms.
To me this indicates that Uniflash and CCS do not flash the same way?
Another little detail, after a seemingly random number of flashes via Uniflash by an automated system on the same unit with the same software, it started working again.
Additionally, what steps would need to be taken to effectively "factory reset" a unit? I would expect a regular flash erasing all sectors via Uniflash to do this, but the above would indicate differently.
