Hi,

We are running the exact example that is provided by TI and not able to duplicate the results. i.e. we don't read what we write into external RAM. We are using the debugger, and not the UART to display the results. We are not stepping through the read/write of RAM, but stopping at the end of the program. We are using a crosswords compiler V4.7. Any clues to how to proceed?

Hello Ofer,

What external device are you connecting to? Are you using the hardware design provided as well? With the EK-TM4C1294XL LaunchPad?

I'm not really familiar with Crosswords compiler, have you been able to run other TM4C example projects on it properly and this is the only one not working as expected?

As an early warning, I did not have any involvement with that design and don't have the hardware myself, so I won't be able to replicate your setup but I should be able to walk you through debugging once I know more about your setup.

Yes, I'm doing the exact hardware described in the TI example https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDM-TM4C129SDRAMNVM. Using the EK-TM4C1294XL and the BOM for the example with the PCB made from the Gerber files. I try to write a block, and some of the slots get the right value. Could it be the the clock is wrong?

The IS421632 operates at 3 frequencies. 200, 166 and 143MHz.

Sorry for the delay but I needed to investigate this further and came across discussions I had in the past with the original hardware designer. The BOM on the TI Design was not fully accurate and the likely part used was the IS42S16320D. Unfortunately the original designer did not have any files left to verify this is the case.

That said, per the following E2E thread where this topic originally came up, a customer who used IS42S16320D was able to successfully get it working with the provided software:
