On-board XDS100v2 emulator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LS20216

Hello,

We are designing a board with a TMS570 alongside an Actel FPGA.  We have an FTDI that will do the JTAG interface to both of our devices (via the same JTAG chain).  Hardware-wise shouldn't be an issue.  My question  is in regards to continuing to use CCS to develop/debug the TMS.  We are guessing that CCS (or the XDS100v2 driver) expects a certain vendor ID from the FTDI chip to know identify the hardware as an xds emulator but we're not sure this is the case.  If somebody could confirm/deny/correct this it would be great.

Also, we would like to know of other considerations to take into account to have a functional XDS100v2 emulator on our system.

Thanks

Also, we are not planning on having a CPLD in the system, instead we are taking the route of the TMS570 USB dev board where the JTAG signals go straight into the chip:
