MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM243X: PN/RT update time can we setup by the upper computer? Like setting by TIA Portal V16

Hi Experts,

Recently I see the PN/RT example as below:

mcu_plus_sdk_am243x_08_01_00_36\examples\industrial_comms\profinet_device_demo\rt_mii

I notice that update time can not be modified in the Demo code, but actually customer need to configure this parameter to every device.

Like you can see the red font/ update time can be set, but in our Demo code I did not see the configure about this update time? Do we also have the related API?

The software team has responded back. They said It should be able to adjust to 2ms or 4ms with internal API. They will verify it with the KUNBUS stack and get back to you soon.

Can you specify which API it is? How do the variables of this API interact with the host computer/TIA Portal V16?
And whether it is possible to open this variable, so that customer can development update time. thanks!

I do not know the internal API yet. The software team is working on verifying it. They will get back to you as sonn as they have completed it.

We do not plan to provide any APIs to configure cycle time on device by device itself. It can be configured from master.

Can you explain the need for such API on device side?

Hi Dhaval,

This parameter should be displayed on the TIA Portal V16. And customer know this parameter, so customer can develop the networking time control. Like Ti and To interrupt and value in the earliest functional API that I have listed.

These are applicable for Isochronous mode, which is not supported right now. Hence those options are missing.
